Celebrating Success

10 Years - Building Healthier Communities (2006-2016)In 2006, rampant methamphetamine abuse was devastating our communities in Yavapai County. Meth use created a major health and safety crisis, fueling increased crime, emergency room admissions and calls to Child Protective Services (CPS).

A small group of civic and community leaders, concerned citizens and law enforcement came together to find a solution. As a result, the methamphetamine advisory taskforce was formed and came to be known as MATFORCE.

Thank you volunteers, staff, and supporters of MATFORCE, past and present. Together, we are building healthier communities!

MATFORCE Receives Prestigious National Award

two people holding the awardThe National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors, Inc. (NASADAD) and the National Prevention Network (NPN) awarded MATFORCE their National Exemplary Award for Innovative Substance Abuse Prevention Programs, Practices, and Policies.

MATFORCE’s multi-faceted approach to reducing prescription drug abuse led to this honor and was one of only four programs to receive the award in the nation.

Many thanks to Dr. Cattolico (pictured at left) and all the volunteers who worked to help reduce prescription drug abuse in our county. Together we are building healthier communities.
